It was around this time that Brooke really started walking.

Two Front Teeth

IMG_2005
Originally uploaded by Gullettes.
Jordan's two front teeth were both loose. One of them has been ready to come out for a while. Well, yesterday we took a trip out of the city, and wrapped up our day with a Target run. Jordan was swinging the shopping cart around and it hit her square in the front teeth. They both fell out along with a lot of blood! She knew she was bleeding pretty bad, but freaked out when she saw herself in the mirror. It was a gusher! Mama freaked out too, which didn't help matters. She was fine minutes later. Seeing her without her two front teeth was a little sad, because it reminded us of how fast she is growing up.

The tooth fairy was shocked to see 2 teeth. She left $6. Not bad!

Jiminy Peak

IMG_1943
Originally uploaded by Gullettes.

Our friends invited us to their father's home in Lenox, Ma last week during Jordan's winter recess. It was the first time skiing for Jordan, Christine and myself. Fortunately, there are no action photos. I'm sure we didn't look too good. Actually, Christine looked pretty good. After one trip down, she had it down. She looked like she belonged there. But for me, skiing is much more awkward than I would have imagined. And packed snow is only slightly more cushiony than a parking lot when you land on it. I still have some aches and pains.

On Jordan's third day, it clicked with her. She graduated from Jiminy Cricket (the bunny slope) to the 180 (novice slope). She'll be better than me by next winter.

Brooke's Beautiful Eyes

IMG_1973
Originally uploaded by Gullettes.

Brooke is growing way too fast for me. She is starting to seem more like a toddler and I feel I am losing my baby (Bryant still says she is the last one). She is not walking yet but pulling up on everything and into everything she can reach. This is her pulling up on my legs and saying Mama. This is a hard face to resist so I usually end up picking her up. Will blog again when she starts taking steps.

Our family as a whole is doing wonderful and life is very good. We feel so very blessed to be having such amazing opportunities and making true friendships. Jordan and Sam are both doing amazing.

Love to all and miss everyone, Christine

P.S. from Bryant regarding our last baby: What Christine is not understanding is there will always be a last baby that gets big and stops being a baby. I'm just trying to help her get past that point. It's inevitable. Plus, what is wrong with 3? There are 3 in the Trinity. Why try to top that? Can I get an Amen?

It's Been a While

009_16
Originally uploaded by Gullettes.
And it's been a good January. It's been a mild winter so far. We've gone the entire month without a flake of snow. Crazy.

Big Brooke's 1st birthday was a couple weeks ago. She's got her daddy's belly. She's pulling herself up, but not walking yet. Won't be long now.

Well, our first year lease is up on our apartment. We had the option of signing another 1 year, or signing a 2 year and avoiding another price gouging next year. We can't see ourselves wanting to move in a year, so we went ahead and signed a 2 year.

Jordan has her own room now. We closed off the dining room. It's small, but it's hers. She loves it.

Sam is not My anymore. He's just Sam. Still a big fan of the diaper. He has a new friend by the name of Griffen. Griffen is 3 1/2. Sam calls him Nate. We guess it is because he thinks it is his cousin Nate whom he played with while we were back in Dallas. They do kinda look alike. And they wrestle alike.

Christine and I are fine. We had a big date night Saturday. We went to dinner and to broadway---saw The Producers.

Gotta go.

Santa

Originally uploaded by Gullettes.
Santa came to daddy's office last night. Jordan was a bit timid. Brooke was fine until she turned around and saw who had her. This picture was taken 2 seconds before she started crying. And Sam...no way. He stayed about 15 feet away all night.

Ready for the Snow

IMG_1689
Originally uploaded by Gullettes.

Sam had to slip on his boots to play in the snow Sunday.

Yeah, big Sam is square in the middle of the Terrible Two's. Within the last few weeks he has colored over the walls with a purple crayon, pee-pee'd on the floor and splashed in the puddle, thrown his sippy cup out the window into the fountain below, emptied lotion bottles, and stuck his hand down the back of his diaper in order to hand us evidence supporting his need for a new diaper.

With all that said, he can be pretty good at times. He loves his sisters and keeps us laughing all the time.

We had a fun Halloween. We had our friends over for their first taste of Frito Pie, then we let the kids go trick-or-treating. Our apartment has over 2000 residents, with kids everywhere, so it took no time to fill up a bag with goodies.

Jordan, Emmy and Sam played great together.

Emmy, after you left, we saw Spiderman climbing the wall of our apartment. He poked his head inside and asked to see you, but you were already gone. Maybe next time.

Longtime Friends

The Haney's came to visit this past weekend. We had a great time!

They arrived Wednesday and stayed 4 nights with us. That's right, 8 people in one apartment. No problem.

Thursday we saw the Statue of Liberty. Friday we went to the Central Park Zoo and FAO Schwartz. Saturday, Stephanie and Christine shopped, while Greg and I stayed with the kids and watched a little football. The finale to our weekend was at Angelo's in Little Italy, where this picture was taken. You can't be great food with old friends.

We loved having you guys.

In response from concerned family and friends, rest assured that we do have enough money to get Sam a haircut. It's just that mom wants to grow it out a bit. Apparently, it's a style thing.

And yes, he still refers to himself as My. And no, he hasn't pooped in the potty since the inaugural pooping.

Ripple Effect

Newsflash: My wife is amazing. I think this city is bringing out the best in her. I really do. During the first few months, she was in survive-mode. She is now in thrive-mode.

She is making a difference in this city, at least in our little corner of the city. One of the beautiful things about living here is that people are out and about more. There is always an opportunity to walk up and start talking to someone. And she does. She is meeting other moms through the school, and getting to know them well. This week, she sat down next to a mom at the park and they started talking. The other mom has five children (she said after 3, it's all the same----whatever!). They are here from Central America because their 1st grader has cancer and they needed to be near the best hospital. Through their conversation, Christine brightened her day---I’m sure.

This past Sunday, our preacher talked about how the ripple-effect of a life well-lived can be so much larger in NYC than in the suburbs. Christine genuinely likes people. She makes them feel good about themselves. She impresses them with how she handles (thrives on) being a mom of three in a new city. She is very unique. Her ripple effect is large.

#2

Let it be known that on this day, the 7th of October, in the year 2005, Benjamin Samuel Gullette pooped in the potty.

We are so proud! You have no idea how proud!
